Gertrud + Otto Natzler

Masters of form and fire

Gertrud and Otto Natzler transformed pottery into fine art. Gertrud shaped clay with a touch that was both forceful and fragile, leaving the quiet imprint of her hands in every curve. Otto brought those forms to life through glaze—revealing depth, color, and movement born of fire and chemistry.

Their work is not meant to be glanced at. A Natzler must be experienced—turned in the light, circled, studied, and, when possible, held. Each piece reveals itself slowly, holding time still while inviting the viewer into an intimate dialogue between form, surface, and touch.

Read Their Story

The Natzler legacy teaches us that beauty does not emerge despite pressure, but because of it. That contrast creates meaning. And the most enduring work holds both truths at once.
